New York, early 1960s. Against the backdrop of a vibrant music scene and tumultuous cultural upheaval, an enigmatic 19-year-old from Minnesota arrives in the West Village with his guitar and revolutionary talent, destined to change the course of American music.

Clare and Jason's duo concerts are renowned for their musicality with Clare’s warm and witty storytelling guaranteeing the audience something personal and Jason’s piano playing providing the perfect accompaniment.
The duo will explore a rich, jazz infused repertoire with timeless classics penned by the legendary musical storytellers of the last 100 years and celebrate giants of the Great American and British Songbooks as well as the odd surprise.
The joyous set list draws from a rich catalogue including selections from Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, Rodgers and Hart, Sting, Van Morrison and Ed Cobb and honours the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Anita O’Day, Nancy Wilson, Frances Faye and Peggy Lee.

On the Friday 14 February, The Flavel bistro will open its doors once again to delight a select few with a two-course meal before heading to our auditorium to watch the fabulous Clare Teal duo.
The main will be a Slow cooked pork shoulder cassoulet served with French bread and butter, or a vegetarian option of Mushroom and chard cassoulet topped with garlic breadcrumbs, followed by a refreshing raspberry and lemon cheesecake.

Elfic will be bringing expertise, enthusiasm and a trunk full of circus equipment to The Flavel. Come and have a go at juggling (balls, scarves and clubs), stilt walking, hula hoops, diablo, flowerstick, plate spinning, peacock feather balancing, hat manipulation, poi, pedal go....but not all at the same time!
Ideal for improving coordination, dexterity and balance, developing concentration, perseverance and confidence...and not forgetting a heap of fun as well.
Elfic ran the Totnes Juggling & Circus Workshop once a week for over 20 years. Over time he has taught the joy of juggling and circus skills to thousands of people.

Hilarious and spectacular comedy juggling show from an award-winning entertainer. Is he an inept, bungling buffoon or a highly skilled, talented professional, not even Elfic knows! Audiences go on a roller coaster ride of fun & laughter, amazement and bewilderment, highly enjoyed by both children and adults alike.
Elfic's vast array of circus skills includes high unicycling, ladder balancing, juggling of balls, clubs, china plates, plate spinning, diablo, hat manipulation and treading on a horn whilst looking surprised. The tricks are all performed in his own madcap style, with witty banter, a touch of magic, improvisation and audience participation.
Elfic has proved to be highly popular and created huge amounts of laughter at Dartmouth Regatta over many years. Here is your chance to see his stage show, under the lights, it's certainly not to be missed!

Dartmouth 1945 – ‘Local Memories of a troubled time’

With grateful thanks to Dartmouth Museum, who provided all the photos & archive film footage.
This incredible film gives a fascinating insight into the contrasts between life in Dartmouth before and after the war. Ian Phillips interviews local residents who remember the changes in industry, shopping, employment, education, leisure, etc. It also looks at the impact of the part that Dartmouth played in the preparation for the D-Day landings, with ‘all roads into the town full of American soldiers’.
