Grant Giving Trusts

The Flavel recently received a very generous grant from The Garfield Weston Foundation. When a full capacity reopening under Covid restrictions was planned for the Flavel in September last year it was vital that we were able to bring our staff back into work full time over the summer to enable our programme to be planned and our marketing campaigns launched. The Garfield Weston grant was crucial in resourcing the staff effort over that period and enabled us to have a successful reopening. We are pleased to say that following a very difficult two years our audiences are back to fully supporting our events programme and our community mission. Established over 60 years ago the Garfield Weston Foundation is a family funded grant making charity supporting causes across the UK. Over 2000 charities a year benefit from the Foundation who are one of the most respected charitable institutions in the UK. The Flavel is grateful for their support.

The Flavel is very grateful to The Foyle Foundation, which, following a successful application process, recently gave a substantial grant to support the Arts Centre.   The Foyle Foundation is a major funder of the Arts helping organisations to improve accessibility and sustainability. The grant is particularly important at this point as the Flavel rebuilds following being closed for long periods during the pandemic. It has enabled the development of our events programme and in supporting our community activities. As a result we see that our audiences are responding well to our current programming and we are greatly encouraged by the number of groups and classes which are using the facilities.”
