Big Landscapes
Colour, Mark & Scale
Explore the drama, colour and scale of the landscape in this five-week painting course.
Over the first three sessions, we will experiment with different ways of approaching landscape through composition, expressive mark-making, texture, colour and atmosphere. These exploratory sessions will help you develop ideas and discover a way of working that feels individual to you.
In the final two weeks, you will bring these ideas together to create a larger landscape painting on canvas, with guidance on building up layers, simplifying forms, creating depth and knowing when a painting is finished.
The course is suitable for a range of abilities, whether you are relatively new to painting or would like to loosen up and develop a more expressive approach to landscape.
