THE ADAM DYER QUARTET

A welcome return to The Flavel for Adam Dyer, this time accompanied by his Jazz Quartet!

Brought up as a teenager in Kingswear, Adam graduated from Christ’s College, Cambridge and, subsequently, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Having played classical music from the age of seven, he took to playing jazz piano in his mid-teens. Following his time at the Guildhall he travelled to Scandinavia to study jazz for two years on a full scholarship. He now lives in London but often returns to Devon for holidays with his young family.

His quartet with Eric Ford (drums) and Jakub Cywinski (bass) and Duncan Eagles (saxophone) recorded his debut album, River Spirit, which has received critical acclaim and radio play on BBC Radio 3.

‘Pianist Adam Dyer‘s debut album is a winning combination of lively post-bop originals, some romantic ballads and a couple of reworked standards’ Patrick Hadfield, UK Jazz News

‘A highly original album which will enchant listeners for years to come.’

Sarah Walker, presenter, BBC Radio 3
