Grant Giving Trusts

The Flavel recently received a very generous grant from The Garfield Weston Foundation. When a full capacity reopening under Covid restrictions was planned for the Flavel in September last year it was vital that we were able to bring our staff back into work full time over the summer to enable our programme to be planned and our marketing campaigns launched. The Garfield Weston grant was crucial in resourcing the staff effort over that period and enabled us to have a successful reopening. We are pleased to say that following a very difficult two years our audiences are back to fully supporting our events programme and our community mission. Established over 60 years ago the Garfield Weston Foundation is a family funded grant making charity supporting causes across the UK. Over 2000 charities a year benefit from the Foundation who are one of the most respected charitable institutions in the UK. The Flavel is grateful for their support.

The Flavel is very grateful to The Foyle Foundation, which, following a successful application process, recently gave a substantial grant to support the Arts Centre.   The Foyle Foundation is a major funder of the Arts helping organisations to improve accessibility and sustainability. The grant is particularly important at this point as the Flavel rebuilds following being closed for long periods during the pandemic. It has enabled the development of our events programme and in supporting our community activities. As a result we see that our audiences are responding well to our current programming and we are greatly encouraged by the number of groups and classes which are using the facilities.”

We are incredibly grateful to the following:

The National Lottery Community Fund for supporting Young Dart Voices with two years of funding. Their investment will help us continue providing free opportunities for children and young people to sing, perform, build confidence, and develop friendships through music. This support ensures that Young Dart Voices can grow and remain an accessible and inspiring part of our community for the years ahead.

St Petrox Land Trust for their generous contribution towards our solar panel project. Their support has helped us take an important step towards reducing our environmental impact, lowering energy costs, and creating a more sustainable future for our community. Partnerships like this make a real difference and help ensure that The Flavel can continue to thrive for generations to come.

South Hams District Council for their contribution towards our solar panel project. Their support is helping us reduce our carbon footprint, improve the sustainability of our building, and secure a greener future for The Flavel and the wider community. This investment will have a lasting positive impact both environmentally and financially.

Theatres Trust (Linbury Grant) for their support towards new lighting and stage monitors at The Flavel. Their contribution has helped us improve the quality of our performances and technical facilities, enhancing the experience for audiences, performers and visiting companies alike. This investment will support a wide range of live events and community productions for years to come.
