A Musical Variety Evening

Flavel Fundraiser: A musical evening


 


Celebrating the Flavel at the culmination of its 20th Birthday year we are pleased to be presenting a Musical Evening with Bistro Supper, on Thursday 26th February.


 


A relaxed evening with John Suchet as MC introducing local musical acts to include; Mick Jones singing a distinct blend of smooth jazz & swing. James Harris one of the most respected saxophone players in the South West performing a wide range of styles. Riff Tide playing ‘Jazzy Blues’. To round off the event,  Shore Thing a new Dartmouth based cover band bringing a fresh mix of Rock, Pop and Soul to the stage - they will be sure to get you up and dancing!


 


There will also be a short music quiz, one of Jess’ delicious two course suppers and the inevitable raffle with some great prizes.

HELENA CLEWS ‘Playful Art’ 26

Helena Clews ‘Playful Art

10am -12.30pm

£165 for block of 5 classes to include complimentary hot drinks and biscuits


Join artist Helena Clews for anther dynamic five-week workshop series, "Playful Art," at the Flavel Arts Centre. This course invites participants to unleash their creativity by exploring a variety of materials, fostering artistic expression through playful experimentation. Under Helena’s expert guidance, attendees will learn to work with different art materials, culminating in the creation of a finished piece on canvas.


Materials Required:

- Pad of thick paper (220gsm, A3 or A2)

- Pentel oil pastels

- Pack of soft pastels (12 or 24)

- Acrylic paint set

- Paint brushes

- Palette

- Water pot or jam jar

- Canvas (suggested 40 x 50cm Helena can discuss this further with attendees)


Participants also have the option to use Helena's materials for a fee, ensuring everyone can access the tools needed for their artistic journey. This course is perfect for those looking to enhance their artistic skills in a supportive and imaginative environment. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore your creativity with Helena!
