A Minecraft Movie (PG)

Four misfits — Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Jason Momoa), Henry (Sebastian Eugene Hansen), Natalie (Emma Myers) and Dawn (Danielle Brooks)—find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination.

To get back home, they’ll have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like Piglins and Zombies, too) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve (Jack Black).

An Evening with the Suchet Brothers

An evening with the Suchet Brothers

John Suchet in conversation with David Suchet – Hercule Poirot himself!

We are delighted that The Flavel’s Honorary Patron, John Suchet OBE will be joined by his brother, Sir David Suchet for a one-off evening of conversation about their fascinating, and very different, lives and careers.

David will also be talking about his new TV series ‘Travels with Agatha’ in which he travelled to locations that Agatha Christie visited, immersing himself in countries she explored to uncover the literary enigma’s inspirations.

As well as an exceptionally distinguished acting career, David Suchet has published two books which will be available for sale and he will be happy to sign them. These are ‘Poirot and Me’ and, the more recently published sumptuous book on his hobby of photography, ‘Behind the Lens – My Life’.

Audience questions are welcome and there will be a complimentary glass of wine served afterwards where you will have the opportunity to continue the conversation with John and David.

Friday 30 May, 7.30pm

Tickets £28 (to include a complimentary glass of wine or soft drink after the talk)

Hannay Stands Fast

We are delighted to bring you - LIVE on stage – from Our Star Theatre Company – Hannay Stands Fast - a thrillingly funny sequel to ‘The 39 Steps’.

Hannay Stands Fast sees our dashing hero, Richard Hannay back in the fray on a mission to thwart a new and deadly threat to his beloved England. Engaged on this top-secret case by MI5, Hannay makes his way down to Cornwall to infiltrate a secretive organisation and learn their dastardly plans.  Can he save the day to keep the nation safe for another day?

Hannay Stands Fast is taken on by four actors playing dozens of characters – 53 to be precise! That’s right 4 actors playing 53 different parts! If you’ve ever seen ‘The 39 Steps’ on stage I’m guessing you will already be chuckling as it is hugely funny, fast-paced and simply brilliant to watch. Set in various locations created through quick and innovative uses of trunks, crates, suitcases, ladders, you name it.

This is a rip-roaring comedy for the whole family to enjoy - another of John Buchan’s classic Hannay stories re-told for the stage through laughs, daring-do and utter chaos.

Our Star Theatre Company are based in Herefordshire and some of you may have seen them already in the fantastic show ‘Sherlock’s Excellent Adventure’ which was on stage at Brixham Theatre last year.
