OTHELLO
Shakespeare’s Globe’s critically-acclaimed production of Othello, captured live during its sold out run at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse is coming to cinemas!
Celebrated by many, Othello has risen through the ranks of the Met police. But can his hardwon reputation, his marriage to Desdemona, and his own subconscious survive the toxic systems that surround him? Sixteenth-century Venice becomes modern-day London’s Docklands, as Othello grapples with many of the same issues that successful Black people have faced for centuries. This is an Othello for our times. Experience Shakespeare’s confronting look at the destructive impact of institutional racism, toxic masculinity, and a justice system locked in a vicious cycle of self-fulfilling prophecy. Director Ola Ince debuted in the intimate, candlelit Sam Wanamaker Playhouse with this ‘inspired’ (The Guardian), and ‘profound’ (Evening Standard) and ‘masterfully redefined’ (West End Best Friend) take on Shakespeare’s blistering tragedy.
Production year: 2024
Starring: Ken Nwosu, Ira Mandela Siobhan
Director: Ola Ince
Runtime: 186mins (Including 20min intermission)
Bonus content: Behind-the-scenes interviews + Globe Theatre tour (during intermission)

Classical Architecture
Presented by Mike Treverrow
It picked us up and has never put us down.
The ancient Greeks not only gave us democracy, theatre, the Olympics, but also architectural elements which has influenced western architecture tradition for over 2000 years. Not only columns, porticos, podiums, and friezes, but also the concepts of elegance and beauty we have the ancient Greeks to thank for.
