The Band - The Last Waltz (U)

The Band - The Last Waltz

Mon 17 Dec

19:30

Back on the big screen by popular demand!

It started as a concert. It became a celebration. Join an unparalleled lineup of rock superstars including Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Neil Diamond and Van Morrison as they celebrate The Band's music in this historic 1976 farewell performance.

Directed by acclaimed director Martin Scorsese, The Last Waltz is not only "the most beautiful rock film ever made" (New York Times), it's "one of the most important cultural events" of the era (Rolling Stone)!

Scorsese's camera explores the interactions onstage in the making of music with some of the finest concert filming in cinema history while, offstage, he interviews The Band's five members, focusing on the nature of life on the road.

The friendships, the harmonies, the hijinks, and the wear and tear add up to a last waltz.

While the concert was shot in 1976, the film wasn't released until late-April 1978 - making it 40 years since the film first hit the big screen.

What better time to revisit it than now?

"Beautifully captured by director Martin Scorsese, it is probably the greatest of concert films" - Empire Magazine

The Movie Meal Deal (MMD) is available for this performance.

Book your MMD now. You will need to book your film ticket separately.
